Duties:
Responsible for supporting the activities of the Global Sustainability team related to greenhouse gas emissions from marine and offshore vessels/assets as well as activities associated with other sustainability related projects which include but are not limited to benchmarking, statistical analysis and sustainability reporting
Maintain solid understanding of emerging regulatory framework related to GHG emissions and waste streams
Support the different projects, services, and other activities within the department
Interact with clients to perform services offered by the Global Sustainability team
Establish and manage client projects
Update and inform the Global Sustainability team on regulatory changes and impact on ABS business
Develop methodologies, tools, and services related to GHG emissions and other areas of interest relating to the activities associated with the Global Sustainability Team
Conduct seminars and workshops related to environmental performance of marine vessels and offshore units
Support the associated service delivery across all geographic locations of Sustainability (Houston, Athens, Copenhagen, Singapore)
Perform annual assessment of new service requirements and develop associated Project Management plans and include in annual budget preparations
Contribute to authoring ABS publications and thought leadership documents

Duties:
With minimal or no supervision performs detailed engineering review of plans, as assigned, for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments
Responsible for the plan review of Offshore Support Vessels, Tugs, Barges and various other <90M vessels to verify compliance with ABS Rules as well as statutory compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, IBC, IMDG, SPS, & OSV Codes
Offer technical advice to field operations and other technical offices
Perform work which involves conventional engineering practices and moderately complex problems such as the resolution of conflicting design requirements, material standards or coordination of activities among other disciplines
Propose new approaches to problems encountered and makes recommendations for changes in methods, procedures or designs
Draft technically accurate and timely reports, and responses to letters, faxes and other forms of communication
Interact with clients to identify and resolve problems in the area of technical expertise
Prepare accurate and timely weekly reports and billing on all work performed
Communicate the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met

Survey Rotation (4 months)
With the assistance and guidance of an experienced Surveyor during the survey rotation visit vessels, marine structures, and manufacturers for routine survey activities
Perform work that involves conventional surveying practices, but may include moderately complex problem resolution and coordination of activities among other disciplines
Technology Rotation (4 months)
Under the supervision of an experienced engineer during the technology rotation conduct research in support of ship and offshore related classification and rule development
Group Rotation (4 months)
Under the supervision of an experienced engineer during the group rotation understand US and International standards and regulations for offshore wind as related to ABS certification and verification
Support ongoing activities regarding US and Indian National Standards for wind energy due diligence and matrix population
